Getting to Madagascar
Visas:
A tourist visa is required to travel to Madagascar.
A tourist visa is available to most nationalities on arrival in Madagascar for a cost of €35 for a 1-month visa (which can easily be extended two more times).
Shorter tourist visas (eg. 1-week or 2-week visas) can also be obtained on arrival at a much lower cost than of €35.
You can also apply for an e-visa in advance via www.evisamada.gov.mg
This option is only available for tourist visas for 30/60/90 days.

Ethiopian Airlines flies direct from Addis Ababa to Nosy Be three times a week.

Airlink flies directly from Johannesburg to Nosy Be on a Sunday, and return flights are only on Sunday as well.

They fly once a week from Johannesburg via Reunion where you would have to stay over and then fly direct from Reunion to Nosy Be.

Getting from the International Airport to Nosy Komba:
You must first take a taxi to the port in Helville. Taxi rates range from 80,000 Ariari to 100,000 Ariari, depending on the size of the vehicle.
Ask your taxi driver to take you the Petit Port (Little Port), since that is where you will find boats to Nosy Komba. There are several public boats which take passengers between Nosy Be and Nosy Komba each day. They start operating early in the morning and they run until at least three p.m. You can find them in the Petit Port in Hellville. The cost per passenger is 20,000 ariari. When you get on the boat, please phone Dominic so that he can tell the skipper which beach to drop you off at when you reach Nosy Komba.Dominic will meet you on the beach below Villa King Komba to assist with carrying your luggage.
